The text editor allows you to define the semantic structure of text using these types of blocks:
- Paragraph
- Title of the TT page (this is the H1 heading)
- H2 Heading
- H3 Heading
- Citation
- Code (text written in the non-proportional font)
- Bulleted list
- Numbered list
It is possible that the text will be displayed slightly differently in the e-shop itself. (This can be due to different set styles, for example, differently styled font sizes, different line spacing, different vertical indentation for headings and so on). The goal is to properly adapt the style to the e-shop so that it displays the defined content in the editor as accurately as possible. An inappropriate approach is to try to adjust the content of the text in the editor - for example, by adding blank lines so that the desired display on the e-shop is achieved. Therefore, if you find that the text on the e-shop is displayed differently than it is written in the editor, please contact us. We can customize the styles on the e-shop.
As mentioned, in the text editor, you should define the semantic structure of the text (what is the title, paragraph, citation, etc.), not its final graphic form (selected font, size, colours). The graphic form should be defined by your brand and the graphic design of the e-shop. It is important to achieve consistency of the visual aspect of the entire e-shop and articles. For this reason, we do not plan to add the ability to choose your own font, any size and any colour in the editor.
We do understand, however, that there may be a need to highlight or differentiate a particular block of text or a specific piece of text in a paragraph. This need should be based on the semantics of the text. The reason for highlighting / differentiation should be defined by type, similar to existing citation types, code, lists, headings. As written above, the editor should be able to determine the structure of the text, not to try to define the graphical design of the text. The graphic design aspect is taken care of by Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) - (we can customize them on request). Therefore, if there is a need for a new semantic block of text, please let us know
Looking at the editor from a semantics point of view also has its benefits in terms of SEO. Properly structured text is more likely to be evaluated by search engines and, most importantly, understood better than text that does not follow clear semantics.
Tip for entering paragraphs/line breaks
The editor has the option to define new paragraphs. When writing a paragraph while using only Enter, only line breaks are made in the current paragraph. By double-tapping Enter, only an empty line is created inside the current paragraph.
To create a new paragraph, it is important to press Alt + Enter. In the editor, you can tell the difference between double enter and a correctly created new paragraph by placing the cursor in an empty line. When pressing double enter, you can place the cursor into the new line. When done correctly, you cannot insert the cursor in the vertical space between two paragraphs.
Tip for creating anchors
There is no need to enter anchors manually, as they are created automatically for each title. It is possible to easily create a link to any title that is in the article. The string that is used for the anchor is created from the title text converted into a web form.
Let’s take a look at this example:
You have an article about the payment conditions: www.exampleweb.com/informations/payment-conditions
In this article, there are two titles (H1 heading) - Price of goods and another tittle - Payment conditions. An automatically created anchor will be created as #price-of-goods-and-payment-conditions.
The resulting link will be: www.exampleweb.com/informations/payment-conditions#price-of-goods-and-payment-conditions
