Data distribution

• The recommended protocol is FTP.
• Suppliers send data (CSV file) to retailers once or at scheduled interval.
• It is not required that one CSV file must include all required columns.
• Data can be split into multiple CSV files, in each file, there should be itemCode to define whose properties they belong.
• This creates possibility for a list of items and its main information to be updated at longer intervals, stock information and prices at shorter intervals.

Filenames

• Preferred filename is composed from supplier's name and retailer's name.
• Only ASCII characters allowed.
• Both supplier's name and retailer's name are composed only of characters from ASCII set.
• Only lowercase character allowed.
• An alphanumeric code can be used to identify the retailer, e.g. from supplier's system.
• Supplier's name and retailer's name is separated by an underscore.
• File extension is .csv.
• If the file is sent to retailers regularly through data repository (e.g. FTP), the filename must retain the same.
• If the supplier decided to split data into multiple files, it is recommended to add the content of the file to each filename.

✅ Correct:

• nameofsupplier_nameofretailer.csv
• nameofsupplier_654321.csv

❌ Wrong:

• PRiCE name of supplier FULL-august.CSV
