Google: Your entire website shouldn't have any broken links All exported links to the feed are valid. The only way Google might not reach the content is if you block Google bots in Web access settings or your throttling value is set to very low. If you are not sure about the solution, we recommend raising a consultation request for it.

Google: Your website shouldn't contain any placeholder images or text By default, shop exports images to the feed without a watermark or any placeholder, but the source image should be uploaded without it. In the case of third-party images, like images from TecDoc, we cannot effectively involve them. One solution might be using a tool for better pairing, which we offer. If you are not sure about the solution, we recommend raising a consultation request for it.

Google: The product details and categories should match those that you provide in your product data For all products, we are exporting matched Google categories that are set in the parent shop category. Products without any category assigned have the more detailed info we have. For more accurate pairing, above your settings, the tool for better pairing offers some automated category pairing features. You can request it in Modules for each feed. If you are not sure about the solution, we recommend raising a consultation request for it.

Google: Your website shouldn't contain generic information and shouldn't miss crucial information about product We are exporting all relevant content in the feed according to the Google documentation. If you are not sure about the solution, we recommend raising a consultation request for it.

Question: Google Merchant Center allows us to have 150k products in a feed only. Answer: The limit is not per feed. The limit is for the number of products in your Google Merchant Center. You have to ask Google support for the limit increase. The form for submitting the request can be found here: support.google.com/merchants/contact/additional_items .

Question: Our TecDoc product has watermarks and Google Merchant Center has rejected them. Answer: TecDoc data has watermarks for all products by default. You should upload a new image without a watermark or do not export the product in the feed. For the car parts industry, Google allows an exception, that you are allowed to substitute the product image with an illustrative image for these products. .

Question: Google Search Console sent us an email that there are faults on our e-shop (missing fields such as SKU, description, brand,PriceValidUntil, aggregateRating etc.) Answer: These are only suggestions for improvement, not faults. You can fill in some of the fields in your Admin (SKU, description, brand), some fields depend fully on your supplier and the data for such fields are unavailable. These missing fields don't have an impact on your e-shop. You might be interested in our module, which enhances the product data quality in the Google Merchant Center feed. Ask our customer care at info@kvik.shop for further information. .

Question: Google reports that some links in the feed point to broken pages. Answer: The first step in this case should be to check the web server access log and check the return code for blocked accesses. You can find the access log in the administration Settings -> Web Access. Accesses can be downloaded for the entire month or for individual days (if you click on a specific day in the "Page-views (web access)" graph). Response codes:. 444 - If the e-shop returns code 444, Google bot is probably blocked by some of the settings in the Web Access section. At the top of the screen, you can switch between blocking by country, ASN, IP address range, User-Agent, and URL paths. You need to go through these settings and find the rule that is blocking Google bot. 429 - This code means "too many requests." The Google bot sends a large number of requests to the e-shop in a short period of time, and some of its accesses are therefore blocked. This usually occurs when uploading a new feed, because Google needs to check a large number of products at once. This can also be resolved in Settings -> Web Access. At the bottom of the screen, you can set a limit for each bot on the maximum number of page-views per minute. By temporarily increasing this limit, you allow the Google bot to crawl all the necessary pages more efficiently. Once the pages have been loaded correctly, you can lower the limit again.

Question: After migration to kvik.shop platform, Google crawls old URLs and reports unavailable pages. Answer: Google naturally keeps products saved in the GMC. For a proper removal, you have to completely remove all old sources of product data (usually old feeds) and new feed address of the feed for GMC. It usually takes some time (days) while Google adapts to these changes.
